1 John 3:8 (KJV); He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
From the dawn of history, the devil has caused destruction to the earth. By his hand, we have seen death, destruction and atrocities that have made many scholars ponder deeply existential questions such as the origins of evil and the meaning of life. When you study the ways of fallen Man, your eyes will open to what kind of depravity the human soul is capable of.
Is there hope for humanity? Yes, in the Church of Christ.
Our theme scripture reveals the great mandate that the Church of Christ has. Because we are one with Christ, He works inside us to accomplish the great task of destroying the works of the devil.
The timeless fight between the forces of light and darkness is not one that is fought merely between GOOD and EVIL but between GOD and EVIL. To define this fight as one between merely good and evil is to attempt to downplay one of the fundamental aspects of the intersection between divinity and humanity.
That said, it is the primary responsibility of the Church to deal with all manner of evil in the world. This is because we are the earthly representation of God in this world. In Ephesians 5:30, the Bible refers to us as members of His body.
The foundations of the world are out of course because the Church has not understood this divine duty. This is the cry of the Psalmist in Psalm 82:5 when he says, “They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.”
As a child of God, you must understand, and continuously be aware of the fact that you were made to destroy the works of the devil: the body of Christ is the divinely mandated agent of change. Because we are qualified by the love of the Father at work in us, we have the unquestionable capacity to confront evil: to deal with poverty and corruption, to cast out disease and demons and to ultimately change this world for the glory of God.

AMRI YETU – KUZIVUNJA KAZI ZA IBILISI

1 Yohana 3:8 (KJV); Atendaye dhambi ni wa Ibilisi; kwa kuwa Ibilisi hutenda dhambi tangu mwanzo. Kwa kusudi hili Mwana wa Mungu alidhihirishwa, ili azivunje kazi za Ibilisi.
Tangu mwanzo wa historia, ibilisi amesababisha uharibifu duniani. Kwa mkono wake, tumeona kifo, uharibifu na ukatili ambao umewafanya wasomi wengi kutafakari maswali ya kina kama vile asili ya uovu na maana ya maisha. Unaposoma njia za mwanadamu aliyeanguka, macho yako yatafunguka kwa aina za upotovu ambazo roho ya mwanadamu inaweza kufanya.
Je, kuna tumaini kwa wanadamu? Ndiyo, lipo katika Kanisa la Kristo.
Andiko letu la mada linafunua agizo kuu ambalo Kanisa la Kristo linalo. Kwa sababu tuna umoja na Kristo, anafanya kazi ndani yetu ili kukamilisha kazi kuu ya kuzifunja kazi za ibilisi.
Pambano la milele kati ya nguvu za nuru na giza si lile linalopiganwa tu kati ya WEMA na UOVU bali kati ya MUNGU na UOVU. Kufafanua vita hivi kama moja kati ya wema na uovu tu ni kujaribu kudharau mojawapo ya vipengele vya msingi vya makutano kati ya uungu na ubinadamu.
Hayo yamesemwa, ni jukumu la msingi la Kanisa kukabiliana na kila aina ya uovu duniani. Hii ni kwa sababu sisi ni wakilishi wa kidunia wa Mungu katika ulimwengu huu. Katika Waefeso 5:30, Biblia inaturejelea kama viungo vya mwili wake.
Misingi ya ulimwengu iko nje ya shaka kwa sababu Kanisa halijaelewa wajibu huu wa kimungu. Hiki ndicho kilio cha Mtunga Zaburi katika Zaburi 82:5 anaposema, “Hawajui wala hawafahamu, hutembea gizani; Misingi yote ya nchi imetikisika.”
Kama mwana wa Mungu, lazima uelewe, na kuendelea kufahamu ukweli kwamba ulifanywa kuvunja kazi za ibilisi: mwili wa Kristo ndio wakala wa mabadiliko aliyeamriwa na Mungu. Kwa sababu tumehitimishwa na upendo wa Baba unaofanya kazi ndani yetu, tuna uwezo usio na shaka wa kukabiliana na uovu: kukabiliana na umaskini na ufisadi, kutoa magonjwa na mapepo na hatimaye kubadilisha ulimwengu huu kwa utukufu wa Mungu.

UJUMBE MKUU: Kama mwana wa Mungu, lazima uelewe, na kuendelea kufahamu ukweli kwamba ulifanywa kuvunja kazi za ibilisi: mwili wa Kristo ndio wakala wa mabadiliko aliyeamriwa na Mungu. Kwa sababu tumehitimishwa na upendo wa Baba unaofanya kazi ndani yetu, tuna uwezo usio na shaka wa kukabiliana na uovu: kukabiliana na umaskini na ufisadi, kutoa magonjwa na mapepo na hatimaye kubadilisha ulimwengu huu kwa utukufu wa Mungu.
SALA: Baba yangu, Nakushukuru kwa ujuzi huu. Umesema katika Neno lako kwamba nitafanya kazi kuu zaidi. Ninaelewa wajibu mkubwa unaokuja na kuwa mwana wa Mungu. Ninakataa kuichukulia kawaida na kujishughulisha na kile kinachohitajika kwangu kila siku. Ulimwengu huu hauwezi kubaki vile vile kwa sababu mimi niko ndani yake, katika jina la Yesu, Amina.
