Apostle Grace Lubega
Colossians 3:23-24 (KJV); And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
In this life of ministry, I have often heard references to minor prophets, specifically while we speak of men like Haggai or Ezra and major prophets when referring to men like Isaiah or Jeremiah.
Some Christians have created a doctrine out of this and refer to themselves as ‘major prophets’ while others are ‘minor prophets.’
The word minor or major was adopted for referential purposes. This difference does not define the weight of the responsibility given to each of these prophets by God. It does not imply that they were men of lesser authority in the Spirit. The vindication of the prophet is in his faithfulness to the assignment given by God.
What’s the lesson for us herein? God rewards faithfulness above gifting. A man may have a major assignment but is unfaithful in delivering it while another may have a lesser assignment but is very faithful in executing it.
An usher in the background working diligently and consistently can have a greater reward than a man of God on a pulpit who treats his altar with casual irreverence.
Regardless of where God has placed you in service, work in the spirit of our theme scripture: diligently, giving it your all because your service is unto the Lord and not men.
