Lessons In Virtue: A Light Burning In The Night

Apostle Grace Lubega

Proverbs 31:18 (KJV); She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

Joseph’s dream in Genesis 37:9-10 and his father’s interpretation of it gives us God’s mind on what the lights of the sun, moon and stars stand for. The sun represented the father, the moon represented his mother and the stars were the children. It means that every child is a star to his parents; EVERY WOMAN IS A MOON TO HER HUSBAND and every man is a sun to his wife and children.

In the Book of Proverbs, the Bible speaks of the virtuous woman as one whose “candle goeth not out by night.”

There is something about the woman that causes her to rule in the “night.” The night here means times of darkness and turmoil in the family or marriage.

Further to this, there are things that women CAN see that more often than not, men CANNOT see.
It is an intuitive instinct that causes them to sense danger from afar — this is why it is truly important for men to listen to their wives.

The Bible says that while men slept, the enemy sowed tares (Matthew 13:25).

The enemy will come in the “night” and sow tares but the woman’s candle must be burning enough for her to know when tares have been sown into her marriage and how to deal with them.

This is why, as a woman, you must know how to keep your home. Keeping your home is not merely sweeping, cleaning or ensuring that the house chores are done.

It is knowing how to control the spiritual atmosphere in your household. It is never allowing the devil to mess with it;
it is knowing how to pray and how to deal with issues in the spirit before their consequences are fully manifest in your family or marriage.

GOLDEN NUGGET:
As a woman, you must know how to keep your home. Keeping your home is not merely sweeping, cleaning or ensuring that the house chores are done. It is knowing how to control the spiritual atmosphere in your home.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for this precious wisdom. I understand my part in marriage. Today, I walk in the understanding of one who knows the power of prayer and the importance of vision in the places of darkness. The devil is far from my family, my children and my spouse. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
