1 John 2:1 (KJV); My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
The devil is the accuser of the Brethren (Revelation 12:10). It is in his nature to seek for the things that should condemn us in the eyes of the Father.
Regardless of this, our theme scripture assures us that Jesus is our advocate.
Can you imagine for a moment what it means for Christ to be your advocate in a situation where the devil tries to accuse you, to the Father?
Between the devil and Jesus Christ, to whom will God listen?
Christ represents the heart of the Father. When He is advocating for us, we are at full advantage.
When the devil accuses us, this is the case that our Advocate makes: it is His case that He became sin that we may become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21); It is His case that He was bruised for our iniquities (Isaiah 53:5); it is His case that the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; it is His case that He saved us to the uttermost (Hebrews 7:25).
And the verdict?
God said in Romans 8:1 that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
With Christ as our advocate, no accusation, no matter how colourfully it explains our shortcomings and failures stands a chance before the Father.

PRAYER: My Father, I thank You for this Word. I thank You because You are my advocate and that by reason of this, I am above any condemnation. This understanding shapes my prayer life and keeps guilt far away from my spirit because I know that I am forgiven and justified, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
