Apostle Grace Lubega
1 Peter 5:6(KJV); Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Humility is often a misunderstood concept.
It is interesting to note that conventional thinking primarily attributes humility to self-disparagement.
Anything designed to lower your value in the eyes of those that observe you makes you humble.
For example, you may have heard people make a statement (in varying versions) to this effect, ‘When I look at the mountains, seas and oceans, I realise how small I am and how big God is.’
That is an expression of humility as approved by your own conscience and not by God. That kind of vision is the reason some people end up worshipping the created more than the creator.
God has given you dominion over those same mountains and seas. In fact, in Mark 11:23, He says you have the power to move a mountain and cast it into the sea.
Our humility comes from looking at God. He is the true vision. Seeing Him is what humbles us.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for teaching me the true path of humility. My eyes are set on You and as I behold the beauty of Your face, Your glory and majesty, my heart sings in awe of who You are. I am humbled that You chose to live in me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
