Apostle Grace Lubega
2 Corinthians 12:10 (NKJV): “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

God reveals to you the strength of your spouse to the degree that you are able to withstand their weakness.
Some spouses never truly come to know the strengths in their partners because they are too fixated on their weaknesses. They define them by what they struggle with, instead of discerning what God has placed within them.
By our theme scripture, God prompts us to look beyond weakness and understand that, many times, the very place of weakness is also the place where strength lies. This is because we are often tried in the areas where God has placed some of our greatest strengths.
For example, a spouse who has faced repeated financial struggles may not be weak with money in the way you assume. It may be that the enemy is fighting them in the very area where God has ordained them to build great wealth. A spouse who has struggled with anger may carry a strong sense of justice, passion, and conviction. When refined by love, patience, and the wisdom of God, that passion can become righteous zeal and strength for the family.
This means that if your spouse is struggling in a specific area, you must learn to change your perspective. Understand that the very place of trial may also be the place where great strength is hidden. If they are helped to rise above that struggle, they may accomplish great things in your family and beyond it.
For this reason, it is important to impute righteousness on your spouse. Learn to speak the things that are not as though they are. Speak strength where you have seen weakness. Speak greatness where you have seen struggle. By doing this, you call out what God has placed in their spirit, fortify them in what they are becoming, and help them overcome. Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: God reveals to you the strength of your spouse to the degree that you are able to withstand their weakness.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the gift of my spouse. I see them through Your eyes and Your truth. I have the grace to discern the strengths hidden beneath their struggles and the wisdom to speak life over them. You help me to cover them in love, and to participate in who they must become. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
