Apostle Grace Lubega
1 Kings 19:12-13 (NKJV): “And after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, ‘What are you doing here, Elijah?'”

Some believers have a wrong understanding of how God speaks.
Because of certain depictions from Hollywood and other sources, many have assumed that God must always speak in a deep, thunderous voice. As a result, anything that does not match this expectation is easily dismissed as not being from God.
But there are many deep voices dispensing oracles without the slightest ounce of God in them.
If a believer is fixated on the “God voice” as defined by movies or human imagination, he may miss the Elijah experience, where God spoke through a still small voice.
God is not limited to one tone, one sound, or one manner of expression.
He can speak as a man, and He can speak softly as a woman. He can be loud and thunderous, and He can also be gentle, quiet, and tender. He may speak through a dream, a vision, an inward witness, His written Word, a sermon, a conversation, or a quiet prompting in your spirit.
Do not allow your understanding of His voice to be defined by men’s opinions, culture, or entertainment channels.
Instead, allow the Holy Spirit to teach you the diverse ways in which God speaks, so that you never miss Him simply because He did not sound the way you expected.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Allow the Holy Spirit to teach you the diverse ways in which God speaks, so that you never miss Him simply because He did not sound the way you expected.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this wisdom. You teach and cause me to discern Your voice beyond assumptions, expectations, and human definitions. I am delivered from every false idea that limits how I hear You. My spirit is open to the diverse ways in which You speak. May I never miss You because You came in a way I did not expect. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
