Our theme scripture is often considered in the context of church gatherings. However, that is not the limit of its application. It also extends to the family setting.
An old religious adage says, “A family that prays together, stays together.”
This is why a family altar is extremely important.
Do you as a family take time to meet, as brothers, sisters, uncles, aunties and any other relatives to simply pray and commune together?
The reason why some families are terribly divided, why backbiting and slandering are the norm, why relatives are scheming on how to destroy fellow family members is the lack of godly family altars.
People that pray for each other and with each other will hardly be found plotting each other’s downfall.
Family prayer is the arena in which feuds are settled, children are aligned, generational wealth is preserved, marriages are fixed and mantles are passed on.
Make the decision to start a family altar in the event that you have none. As a family, be deliberate about praying and fellowshipping together.
