Romans 1:9 (KJV); For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
Service to God begins with the spirit man. This is what Paul means when he speaks of serving God with his spirit.
What kind of service is the apostle referring to?
Is it singing in the choir, being a part of the ushering team or working in the administration department of your ministry?
While all these may be forms of service, when Paul speaks of service with the spirit, he means more than the things we do with our hands and our minds.
Your spirit is the candle of the Lord (Proverbs 20:27). We serve with our spirits when we yield our hearts to God and allow Him to use us beyond the limits of our flesh and our minds.
As an example, when you dream of a sister and in your dream you see them die and then you pray about it until you avert death, that is service with your spirit.
When you suddenly think about a brother and decide to call them, only to realise that your phone call was very timely and saved them from some grave difficulty, that is service with your spirit.
This kind of service becomes more evident the more you yield to the Spirit of God and His instructions. As you follow through one instruction, you are proved faithful even for more instructions from God.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Your spirit is the candle of the Lord. We serve with our spirits when we yield our hearts to God and allow Him to use us beyond the limits of our flesh and our minds.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this knowledge. I thank You for the great privilege of serving You. My heart is open to your urges and your convictions. I can never miss your instructions because I am awakened and constantly aware of what is happening in the realm of the spirit. I am ever ready to serve with my spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Mtume Grace Lubega
Warumi 1:9 (KJV); Kwa maana Mungu, nimwabuduye kwa roho yangu katika Injili ya Mwana wake, ni shahidi wangu jinsi niwatajavyo pasipo kukoma,
Utumishi kwa Mungu huanza kutoka Rohoni. Hivi ndivyo Paulo anamaanisha wakati anasema juu ya kumtumikia Mungu kwa roho yake.
Je! Ni aina gani ya utumishi anayozungumzia mtume?
Je! Ni kuimba katika kwaya, kuwa sehemu ya timu inayowakaribisha watu kanisani au kufanya kazi katika idara ya usimamizi wa wizara yako?
Ingawa hizi zote zinaweza kuwa aina za huduma, wakati Paulo anazungumza juu ya huduma na roho, anamaanisha zaidi ya vitu tunavyofanya kwa mikono na akili zetu.
Roho yako ni mshumaa wa Bwana (Mithali 20:27). Tunatumikia na roho zetu wakati tunatoa mioyo yetu kwa Mungu na kumruhusu atutumie zaidi ya mipaka ya mwili wetu na akili zetu.
Kwa mfano, unapoota dada fulani na katika ndoto yako unamuona akifa halafu uombe juu yake hadi uepushe kifo, hiyo ni huduma kwa roho yako.
Unapofikiria ghafla juu ya ndugu fulani kisha unaamua kumpigia simu, tu kugundua kuwa simu yako ilikuwa ya wakati unaofaa na ilimuokoa kutoka kwa shida kubwa, hiyo ni huduma kwa roho yako.
Huduma ya aina hii inadhihirika zaidi kadiri unavyojitoa kwa Roho wa Mungu na maagizo yake. Unapofuata maagizo moja, unathibitishwa kuwa mwaminifu hata kwa maagizo zaidi kutoka kwa Mungu.
MASOMO YA ZIADA: Ayubu 32: 8, Mithali 20:27
UJUMBE MKUU: Roho yako ni taa ya Bwana. Tunatumikia kwa roho zetu wakati tunatoa mioyo yetu kwa Mungu na kumruhusu atutumie zaidi ya mipaka ya mwili wetu na akili zetu.
SALA: Baba, Nakushukuru kwa maarifa haya. Ninakushukuru kwa upendeleo mkubwa wa kukutumikia. Moyo wangu uko wazi kwa matakwa yako na imani yako. Siwezi kamwe kukosa maagizo yako kwa sababu nimeamshwa na kufahamu kila wakati juu ya kile kinachotokea katika ulimwengu wa roho. Niko tayari kutumikia na roho yangu. Katika jina la Yesu, Amina.
