Genesis 37:23-24 (KJV); And it came to pass when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him; And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.
In yesterday’s devotion, we learnt that what may appear as a low point in your life could be a depth in God, that is, His way of digging you a deeper foundation that will provide the right base for your success.
Joseph’s life is a classic example of this. Undoubtedly, being assaulted by his brothers and thrown into a pit to kill him must have been the lowest point of his life.
But God, the master planner and strategist was behind the scenes, weaving a scheme so grand that it catapulted Joseph from his pit straight into Pharaoh’s palace as the governor of one of the world’s greatest civilizations at the time (Genesis 41:40-41).
There’s a great lesson here for us children of God. Never celebrate the fall of a saint. You may never know how high they will go when God raises them again.
If a brother appears to be in a ‘pit’, pray for him, comfort, strengthen and lend a helping hand instead of joining the criticising masses in their stampede to social media to name and shame.
Don’t be counted among the ones that sharpen their tongues with glee when they see a brother on the ground. Always be the one who stands on the side of love, agape, which represents the heart of the Father.

Wano waliwo essomo ekkulu eri ffe abaana ba Katonda. Tosanyukiranga kugwa kwa mutukuvu. Oyinza obutamanya waggulu wenkana ki gye balituuka nga Katonda abayimusizza nate.

Mwanzo 37:23-24 (KJV); Ikawa Yusufu alipofika kwa ndugu zake, wakamvua Yusufu kanzu yake, kanzu ile ndefu aliyoivaa, wakamtwaa wakamtupa katika birika; na hiyo birika ilikuwa tupu, hamna maji.
Katika ibada ya jana, tulijifunza kwamba kile kinachoweza kuonekana kuwa cha hali ya chini katika maisha yako kinaweza kuwa kina ndani ya Mungu, yaani, njia yake ya kukuchimbia msingi zaidi ambao utatoa msingi sahihi wa mafanikio yako.
Maisha ya Yusufu ni mfano halisi wa hii. Bila shaka, kushambuliwa na ndugu zake na kutupwa shimoni ili kumuua lazima iwe ilikuwa hatua ya chini kabisa maishani mwake.
Lakini Mungu, mpangaji mkuu na mpanga mikakati alikuwa nyuma ya pazia, akitengeneza njama kuu sana hivi kwamba ilimtoa Yusufu kutoka shimoni mwake moja kwa moja hadi kwenye jumba la kifalme la Farao kama gavana wa mojawapo ya ustaarabu mkubwa zaidi wa ulimwengu wakati huo (Mwanzo 41:40-41).
Kuna somo kubwa hapa kwetu wana wa Mungu. Kamwe usisherehekee anguko la mtakatifu. Huenda usijue jinsi atakavyopanda Mungu atakapomwinua tena.
Iwapo ndugu anaonekana yuko ‘shimoni’, mwombeeni, mfariji, muimarishe na mpe mkono wa pole badala ya kujumuika na wananchi wanaomkosoa katika kukanyagana kwa mitandao ya kijamii kutaja majina na aibu.
Usihesabiwe miongoni mwa wale wanaonoa ndimi zao kwa furaha wakimuona ndugu chini. Daima kuwa yule anayesimama upande wa upendo, Agape, ambao unawakilisha moyo wa Baba.
