Psalm 51:17(KJV); The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
The realm of mysteries is one into which we are invited by God.
What this means is that the Spirit of revelation does not operate in us because of our vigorous commitment to the gospel and our fervency in spirit. It does not work in us because we have read the Bible from cover to cover, internalized verse by verse and dissected precept upon precept. It works by reason of divine invitation.
How does this divine invitation work?
God invites us into the realm of eternal depths depending on how vulnerable we are in spirit. A proud man can never be invited into the realm of revelation and as such, no proud man truly knows God.
To be vulnerable before God is what the Psalmist in our theme scripture calls a broken and contrite spirit.
Vulnerability is the consciousness that He leads and you follow; it is the understanding that no amount of your physical effort can open heavenly scrolls and give you insight into the person of God; it is the awareness that God and Him alone opens the Word to you because in opening the Word, He opens Himself.
In these places of invitation, the clarity of His voice is defined by how humble you are.
Child of God, do not make a bed on the laurels of your past spiritual experiences, remember that a degree in theology is not a passcode into deeper divine insight, cast down the crown of your previous knowledge and understand that God wants to show you so much more!
