Apostle Grace Lubega
2 Timothy 2:15(KJV); Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
The Greek word, ‘spoudazó’ used for study in our theme scripture is translated among other things as ‘to give diligence.’
Some people misunderstand the word study in this scripture; they imagine it is only reading the word so much and memorising verse by verse and in that, gaining the approval of God.
While the importance of studying the scriptures cannot be overemphasized, you must understand that in this context, God is provoking His children to deeper levels of diligence.
Diligence in the things of the spirit is not limited to prayer, Bible study, and fasting.
It is in how we treat matters that concern the gospel. It is reflected in how we handle assignments from spiritual authorities. It is in how we deliver on tasks that advance the cause of the gospel.
If you are asked to do anything that concerns the Kingdom of God or the ministry, why drag it for days or months with no deliverables yet you will meet your deadlines at your workplace or work harder at your business?
If you commit to perform a task that concerns the Kingdom of God, do it with enthusiastic excellence. If you promised God that you will do something, fulfill it. That is a diligent spirit!

GOLDEN NUGGET: If you commit to perform a task that concerns the Kingdom of God, do it with enthusiastic excellence. If you promised God that you will do something, fulfill it. That is a diligent spirit!
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You because I am a diligent spirit. I spend myself for the sake of the kingdom because I know what it means to serve You. Even as I give myself entirely, lives are transformed, to the glory of Your name, Amen.
