Apostle Grace Lubega
Genesis 32:28 (KJV): “And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.”
—
In our theme scripture, Jacob is told that he had power with God and with men, and that he had prevailed. Within this statement lies a profound truth revealed by the deliberate order of the words: God first, then men.
This means that no one can truly move the hearts of men unless they have first moved the heart of God. Any believer who walks the Christian life in a powerful, impactful, and notable way has first cultivated intimacy with God before influencing men. Spiritual authority before men is the product of spiritual alignment with God.
This same divine pattern is repeated throughout Scripture.
In Luke 2:52, the Bible records that Jesus grew in favour with God and man. Jesus’ public impact was the overflow of His private devotion.
This truth is also reflected in the life of Samuel. 1 Samuel 2:26 tells us that the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favour with the Lord and with men.
God extends the same promise to us in Proverbs 3:4, assuring us that we will find favour and good success in the sight of God and man.
Beloved, the order must never be reversed. When God comes first, men follow. The call is clear: prioritise God, and men will respond to the grace upon your life.

GOLDEN NUGGET: No one can truly move the hearts of men unless they have first moved the heart of God.
PRAYER: Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for this invitation into intimacy with You. I choose to seek Your heart above the approval of men. You order my priorities, that I may walk pleasing before You. My life is a vessel of divine favour. I receive grace to dwell in the secret place and from that place, to influence my world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
