Positioning is not only about place and time but also about people. Who you sit with, walk with, and take counsel from directly shapes your ability to experience Godly elevation. As Proverbs 13:20 reminds us, “He who walks with wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
Our theme scripture warns us against walking in the counsel of the ungodly or standing in the way of sinners. We must learn to step away from influences that undermine the fear of God. The fear of the Lord is not just a private conviction; it is a spiritual atmosphere. When you surround yourself with people who lack reverence for God, their irreverence creates an environment that slowly presses against your convictions until they wear thin.
In 1 Corinthians 5:11, Scripture goes so far as to instruct us on who we should even share a table with. Sometimes judgment falls upon a person not because they themselves are wicked, but because they have chosen to keep company with the wicked.
Always remember: your inner circle will either position you for divine success or displace you from the very path God has prepared for you.
