1 Thessalonians 2:13 (AMP); And we also thank God continually for this, that when you received the word of God [concerning salvation] which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of [mere] men, but as it truly is, the word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its inherent, supernatural power in those of faith].
If you wish to receive from a minister of God, then you must treat instructions and the message on the altar as the message of God. This was the attitude of the Church at Thessalonica. Paul was pleased with them because when they received the Word, they welcomed it, not as the word of mere men but the Word of God.
Some Christians only treat what is in the Bible as the Word of God. Any instruction from anyone else is not worth a second thought. You must understand that God speaks through His ministers too. In 2 Chronicles 20:20, the Bible says, “Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.”
If you do not trust the man of God you are listening to, then ask God to lead you to another you can trust. The important thing is to find a minister of the gospel whose instructions you will accord enough respect to treat as the instruction of God. If he speaks out of line, let God judge him for it.
Some Christians are struggling with issues that have tortured them relentlessly for decades. They have prayed, fasted and spent nights on every mountain in search of a reprieve. The answer may be in the fact that when you listened to the Word, it was just another sermon; another preacher with a smart mouth looking to fleece you of your hard-earned money or another feel-good message.
For the church at Thessalonica, the Word exercised its supernatural and inherent power because to them, it was God Himself speaking. This is one of the principles of how to get the Word to work for you.

JINSI YA KUPOKEA KUTOKA KWA WATUMISHI WA MUNGU – 2

1 Wathesalonike 2:13 (AMP); Kwa sababu hiyo sisi nasi twamshukuru Mungu bila kukoma, kwa kuwa, mlipopata lile neno la ujumbe la Mungu [kuhusu wokovu] mlilolisikia kwetu, mlilipokea si kama neno la wanadamu, bali kama neno la Mungu; na ndivyo lilivyo kweli kweli; litendalo kazi pia ndani yenu ninyi mnaoamini.[kutumia nguvu yake ya asili, isiyo ya kawaida kwa wale wa imani].
Ikiwa unataka kupokea kutoka kwa mtumishi wa Mungu, basi lazima uchukue maagizo na ujumbe utokao kwenye madhabahu kama ujumbe wa Mungu. Huu ndio ulikuwa mtazamo wa Kanisa la Thesalonike. Paulo alifurahishwa nao kwa sababu walipopokea Neno, walilipokea, sio kama neno la wanadamu tu bali Neno la Mungu.
Wakristo wengine huchukulia tu kile kilicho kwenye Biblia kama Neno la Mungu. Maagizo yoyote kutoka kwa mtu mwingine hayastahili kufikiriwa tena nao. Lazima uelewe kwamba Mungu huzungumza kupitia watumishi wake pia. Katika 2 Mambo ya Nyakati 20:20, Biblia inasema, “Mwaminini Bwana, Mungu wenu, ndivyo mtakavyothibitika; waaminini manabii wake, ndivyo mtakavyofanikiwa.”
Ikiwa humwamini mtumishi wa Mungu unayemsikiliza, basi mwombe Mungu akuongoze kwa mtumishi mwingine ambaye unaweza kumwamini. Jambo muhimu ni kupata mtumishi wa injili ambaye maagizo yake utayapa heshima ya kutosha kiasi cha kuyachukulia kama maagizo ya Mungu. Ikiwa atazungumza nje ya ukweli, wacha Mungu amhukumu kwa hilo.
Wakristo wengine wanapambana na maswala ambayo yamewatesa bila kukoma kwa miongo. Wamesali, wamefunga na kukesha siku nyingi kwenye kila mlima kutafuta afueni. Jibu linaweza kuwa katika ukweli kwamba wakati uliposikiliza Neno, ulilichukulia kama mahubiri mengine tu; kama mhubiri mwingine mwenye mdomo mzuri anayetafuta kukunyang’anya pesa zako ulizopata kwa ugumu au ujumbe mwingine wa kukufanya ujisikie vizuri.
Kwa kanisa la Thesalonike, Neno lilitumia nguvu zake zisizo za kawaida na za asili yake kwa sababu kwao, alikuwa Mungu mwenyewe akiongea nao. Hii ni moja ya kanuni za jinsi ya kulifanya Neno likufanyie kazi.

Nimesimama katika hekima ya mtu ambaye amefundishwa sana katika njia za Roho kwa sababu najua jinsi ya kupokea kutoka kwa watumishi Wako. Katika jina la Yesu, Amina.
