Apostle Grace Lubega
Matthew 13:8 (NKJV): “But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

In the principles of giving, it is not enough to simply give; the ground into which you sow is an important factor.
Some believers give to people who are rebellious in the eyes of God. For example if a believer continually refuses to honour God with their resources and rejects to heed God’s principles on giving, then constantly supporting them may enable disobedience rather than help them grow. That is ground from which you should not expect a harvest.
Likewise, there are those who do not work, not because they have tried and failed to get jobs, but because they have a bad attitude toward labour of any kind. The Word is clear: “If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Giving to such laziness is enabling rebellion against God’s principle of labour.
Another wrong ground is giving to people whose lives are governed by wastefulness and poor stewardship. If someone repeatedly mishandles resources, refuses counsel, and remains careless with money, giving to them may not be an act of love but an encouragement of irresponsibility. God expects His people to be faithful stewards of what He entrusts to them.
Another instance of giving to the wrong ground is giving to causes, people, or systems that fight the purposes of God. Money is spiritual. Where you place it, you empower something. If your giving strengthens deception, immorality, or ungodly agendas, then your seed is working against the very kingdom you claim to serve.
This does not mean that the believer should become hard-hearted or suspicious of everyone in need. The same God who commands us to be generous also teaches us to discern ground. Seed must be sown in the right place and by the leading of the Spirit. Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: The same God who commands us to be generous also teaches us to discern ground. Seed must be sown in the right place and by the leading of the Spirit.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this word. I give with discernment and not merely by emotion or pressure. My eyes are open to recognise good ground. I do not sow to rebellion, laziness, wastefulness, manipulation, or anything that dishonours You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
