Hosea 8:7 (KJV); For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
The butterfly effect is a philosophical phenomena that explains why small things can lead to very big consequences. In scientific application, the flapping of the butterfly’s wings might cause a tornado.
The phenomena has a basis in the metaphysical law of entanglement that states that all things are interconnected such that one small action can influence a much larger and complex system.
Our theme scripture casts light on this truth. The Bible speaks of how men sowed the wind and reaped the whirlwind. One small thing had far reaching results.
The principle has a direct application in our daily lives. Many people are unaware of this and as such blame the wrong things for the difficulties in their lives.
The butterfly effect explains why the way a woman spoke to her mother while growing up is the reason she is not married today. It is behind why one’s treatment of a supervisor at their first job is the reason they have never been employed since no matter how hard they try to find work. It also works in the positive sense too. A kindness to a random stranger can lead to unimaginable growth and increase in a particular aspect of your life.
These truths are not meant to judge or feed blame. Rather, they should provoke us to deeper thought and contemplation. Contemplation should lead us to inquire from God. Why might you be struggling with an issue that seems to have no light at the end of its tunnel? Why have you not seen change?
One psychiatrist said, ‘until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.’
When we inquire, God is gracious enough to show us where we errored and lead us into the paths of progress and increase.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Contemplation should lead us to inquire from God. Why might you be struggling with an issue that seems to have no light at the end of its tunnel? Why have you not seen change? When we inquire, God is gracious enough to show us where we errored and lead us into the paths of progress and increase.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. I receive it with humility and use it as a direct torch into my life. I understand the power of even the smallest actions and so I yield to You to guide me in all my ways by Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hosea 8:7 (KJV); Kwa maana wamepanda upepo, nao watavuna tufani, haina mashina; chipukizi halitatoa unga; likizaa, wageni watalimeza.
Athari ya kipepeo ni jambo la kifalsafa ambalo linaelezea kwa nini vitu vidogo vinaweza kusababisha matokeo makubwa sana. Katika sayansi, kupigwa kwa mbawa za kipepeo kunaweza kusababisha kimbunga.
Matukio hayo yana msingi katika sheria ya kimetafizikia ya mshikamano ambayo inasema kwamba vitu vyote vimeunganishwa hivi kwamba hatua moja ndogo inaweza kuathiri mfumo mkubwa zaidi na mgumu.
Andiko letu kuu linatoa mwanga juu ya kweli hii. Biblia inazungumza jinsi watu walivyopanda upepo na kuvuna tufani. Kitu kimoja kidogo kilikuwa na matokeo ya mbali zaidi.
Kanuni hiyo inatumika moja kwa moja katika maisha yetu ya kila siku. Watu wengi hawajui hili na hivyo wanalaumu vitu visivyofaa kwa ugumu wa maisha yao.
Athari ya kipepeo inaeleza kwa nini jinsi mwanamke alivyozungumza na mama yake alipokuwa akikua ndiyo sababu hajaolewa leo. Namna alivyomtendea msimamizi wake katika kazi yake yake ya kwanza ndio sababu mtu huyo hajawahi kuajiriwa tena bila kujali namna alivyojaribu kutafuta kazi. Pia inafanya kazi kwa namna chanya. Fadhili kwa mtu usiyemfahamu inaweza kusababisha ukuaji usiofikirika na kuongezeka katika nyanja fulani ya maisha yako.
Kweli hizi hazikusudiwi kuhukumu au kuleta lawama. Badala yake, zinapaswa kutuchochea kufikiria na kutafakari kwa kina. Tafakari zinapaswa kutuongoza kuuliza kutoka kwa Mungu. Kwa nini unaweza kuwa unapambana na suala ambalo linaonekana kutokuwa na mwanga mwishoni mwa handaki lake? Mbona hujaona mabadiliko?
Daktari mmoja wa magonjwa ya akili alisema, ‘hadi unapoweza kufanya isiyo na fahamu kuwa na fahamu, itayaelekeza maisha yako na utaiita hatima.’
Tunapouliza, Mungu ni mwenye neema ya kutosha kutuonyesha pale tulipokosea na kutuongoza katika njia za maendeleo na ongezeko.
