James 5:16 (AMPC); Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offences, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
Our theme scripture reveals an infallible truth: prayer avails power. Many who claim that the enemy’s attacks against them are too strong have not understood that with prayer comes power.
Jesus Christ was a praying man. The Bible says in Luke 5:16 that He often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
The effect of such a lifestyle became clear in Luke 5:17. The scriptures say “it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.”
As He sat with Pharisees and doctors of the law, power was present to heal them.
How did this power become available?
The secret is in the preceding verse that speaks of His lifestyle of prayer.
When you learn to pray, the power of God will always be available for you. To the Pharisees, it was available to heal but it can be available to deliver from demonic oppression; comfort the depressed; give wisdom and counsel; restore marriages and build ministries.

Ebyawandiikibwa bigamba nti “awo olwatuuka ku lunaku lumu mu ezo, yali ng’ayigiriza, nti waliwo n’Abafalisaayo n’abayigiriza b’amateeka nga batudde awo, abaali bavudde mu buli kibuga eky’e Ggaliraaya, n’e Buyudaaya n’e Yerusaalemi, n’amaanyi ga Mukama gaali naye okuwonya.”
Bweyatuulanga n’Abafalisaayo n’abayigiriza b’amateeka, amaanyi gaaliwo okubawonya.
Amaanyi gano gajja gatya okubeerawo?
Ekyama kiri mu lunyiriri olusooka olwogera ku bulamu bwe obw’okusaba.
Bw’oyiga okusaba, amaanyi ga Katonda gajjanga kubeerawo kululwo. Eri Abafalisaayo, gaaliwo okuwonya naye gasobola okubeerawo okukusumulula okuva eri okunyigirizibwa kw’emizimu; okusanyusa abanakuwavu; okkuwa okutegeera n’okkuwa amagezi; okuzzaawo obufumbo n’okuzimba obuweereza.

Yakobo 5:16; N’ahabw’ekyo mweteisizane ebibi byanyu, kandi mushabirane, mubone kukira. Okushaba kw’ohikiriire kugira amaani maingi omu kukora kwakwo.
Omutwe gw’ebyahandiikirwe byaitu nigushuuruurira amazima agatarikuhinduka: Okushaba nikureeta amaani. Baingi abarikugira ngu okuteganisibwa kw’omuzigu kwaine amaani munonga tibaketegyereize ngu okushaba nikwiija n’amaani.
Yesu Kristo akaba ari omushabi. Baiburi negira omu Luka 5:16 eti akaba arugayo, aza omu ihamba, ashaba.

Yakobo 5:16 (AMPC); Kwa hiyo ungamanishana makosa yenu (utelezi wenu, hatua zenu za uongo, makosa yenu, dhambi zenu) na mkaombeane, ili mponywe na kurejeshwa [kwa sauti ya kiroho ya akili na moyo]. Sala ya dhati (ya dhati, inayoendelea) ya mtu mwadilifu hufanya nguvu kubwa ipatikane [nguvu katika utendaji wake].
Andiko letu kuu linafunua kweli isiyo na udhaifu: sala hupata nguvu. Wengi wanaodai kwamba mashambulizi ya adui dhidi yao ni makali mno hawajaelewa kwamba maombi huja na nguvu.
Yesu Kristo alikuwa mtu wa kuomba. Biblia inasema katika Luka 5:16 kwamba mara nyingi alijitenga kwenda mahali pa upweke na kuomba.
Matokeo ya mtindo huo wa maisha yakawa wazi katika Luka 5:17. Maandiko yanasema “Ikawa siku zile mojawapo alikuwa akifundisha, na Mafarisayo na waalimu wa torati walikuwa wameketi hapo, waliotoka katika kijiji cha Galilaya, na Uyahudi, na Yerusalemu: na uweza wa Bwana ulikuwapo apate kuponya.”
Alipokaa na Mafarisayo na madaktari wa sheria, nguvu ilikuwepo kuwaponya.
Je, nguvu hii ilipatikana vipi?
Siri iko katika mstari uliotangulia unaozungumzia mtindo Wake wa maisha ya sala.
Unapojifunza kuomba, nguvu za Mungu zitapatikana kwako daima. Kwa Mafarisayo, ilipatikana kuponya lakini inaweza kupatikana kukomboa kutoka ukandamizaji wa pepo; kufariji wenye msongo wa mawazo; kutoa hekima na ushauri; kurejesha ndoa na kujenga huduma.
