The Phaneroo Devotion: Step Out In Faith

Exodus 14:15-16 (NKJV): “And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”

I have often seen Christians who delay their obedience to God because they are waiting for the Lord to “make a way.” For example, if the Lord instructs them to launch a ministry, they wait for Him to pave the path by availing a specific amount of money before they are willing to take action.
Similarly, the Lord may instruct a person to go to a specific nation to preach the Gospel, but they sit back, waiting for what may make the journey convenient before they make a move.
That is not how God operates. If you are always waiting for God to clear the path before you step out, please understand a profound spiritual reality: sometimes, the way is only made after you take the first step in faith.
Look at Moses and the children of Israel standing before the Red Sea. The Lord’s explicit command to them was to go forward. Heaven required them to take a physical step toward the water. The miracle they needed would have never manifested if they had remained rooted to the ground, waiting for the sea to part before they began moving.
This is exactly what God will demand from you at times. He will ask you to step forward even when no path has been carved through your Red Sea. He will tell you to march toward what looks like an immovable wall or mountain, long before it ever shifts out of your sight.
When God gives an instruction, do not wait for the circumstances to align. Take that first step in faith, and trust Him to make the way as you move. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Loving Father, thank You for this word. By this wisdom, I choose to move forward even when circumstances are uncomfortable or unpredictable. I refuse to sit still in fear. I go forward, fully confident that You will part every sea and level every mountain as I move. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
