Matthew 16:19 (AMP); I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth [a]will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth [b]will have [already] been loosed in heaven.
Praying effectively requires that one connects to heavenly realities before relating with earthly facts.
As revealed by our theme scripture, heaven is the starting point. What you bind on earth is already bound in heaven and what you loose on the earth is already loosed in heaven.
The will of God is done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). In Psalm 119:89, the Bible says, “Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” The pattern is further painted in Isaiah 55:10-11, the Bible says, “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” In this scripture, the Word is sent from heaven. Jesus Christ is the bread from heaven (John 6:51).
Any man who prays from ‘earth to heaven’ and not ‘heaven to earth’ frustrates this pattern.
In prayer, you must be conscious of heavenly truths; that you are above and not beneath; that sickness has no place in the heavens; that pain and frustration are not a heavenly testimony. When a man understands this, he cannot approach God for healing like he is a sick man; for increase like he is a deprived man, for multiplication like he is a disadvantaged person.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Praying effectively requires that one connects to heavenly realities before relating with earthly facts.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this knowledge. By this wisdom, I learn how to pray the right way and receive from You in prayer. My prayers are not defined by what is on earth but what is in heaven. I behold heavenly truths and allow these to define my earthly reality, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
