Apostle Grace Lubega
1 Timothy 4:8 KJV: “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”

The spirit of a man must be exercised. Just as a person goes to the gym to strengthen their muscles, there is an even greater demand to intentionally strengthen the spirit. This is what makes the difference between those who are spiritually weak and those who are spiritually strong. It distinguishes those whose spirits can endure the storms of life from those who collapse at the first sign of adversity or pain.
There are many ways to exercise your spirit. These include, but are not limited to, a disciplined life of prayer, consistent meditation, and a continual study of the Word of God. Each of these practices builds spiritual stamina and resilience.
But why is spiritual exercise important? Why must a Christian deliberately commit to strengthening their spirit?
Exercise in any form pushes you beyond your comfort zone. And the comfort zone is the killer of distinction, the enemy of growth, and the antithesis of maturity. Nothing extraordinary is ever achieved in the comfort zone.
Every time you exercise your spirit, you condition yourself to function above the ordinary. You train yourself to do extraordinary things and to walk in a dimension of power that seems impossible to others. Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: Exercise in any form pushes you beyond your comfort zone. And the comfort zone is the killer of distinction, the enemy of growth, and the antithesis of maturity. Nothing extraordinary is ever achieved in the comfort zone.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. I receive this wisdom, and with it I build and fortify my spirit. My inner man is strengthened beyond what I can fully comprehend. Nothing can move me, yet I move things because this truth works mightily in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
