Apostle Grace Lubega
1 Corinthians 15:56(KJV); The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
Critics of the grace message claim that one of the failures of grace preachers is in expressing their distaste towards sin by failing to teach against it.
They assume that once you speak about something then you impart strength to the hearers to overcome that issue. For example, if you tell someone, “Do not steal” then in hearing this, they find the strength and ability not to steal.
That is not the way it works. Our theme scripture reveals that the strength of sin is the law. Instead of stirring inner strength by speaking the law, one instead strengthens sin.
In Romans 6:14, the Bible says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” Under the law, sin is so strengthened that it takes on the place of a master over one’s life.
What God requires from us is to give men Christ, the person of the grace because it is from Him that we draw strength to overcome all manner of weakness.
The law strengthens the hold of sin while grace imparts the strength to overcome sin.
Hallelujah!
