Apostle Grace Lubega
Hebrews 2:1 (KJV): “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.”

Revelation can drift away.
It is striking how a person can sit through a service, attentively listen to a sermon, and yet almost immediately lose what was received through the teaching. You may ask such a person what was preached moments after the service, only to discover that they can barely recall the message.
Our theme scripture admonishes us to give earnest heed to the things we have heard. The Message Translation makes this instruction even clearer by urging us to keep a firm grip on what we have heard so that we do not drift away.
It is not enough to listen to a sermon and feel excited about a revelation or mystery that has been unveiled. Excitement alone does not preserve revelation. The first responsibility is understanding, taking time to grasp what has been communicated by the Spirit of God.
Secondly, revelation must be continually stirred in your spirit if it is to manifest in your life. When nurtured in this manner, the Word will inevitably produce a harvest of fruit. You stir the depths of revelation through the bold confession of your lips and intentional reflection upon that which you have heard. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Loving Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. I give earnest heed to what I hear and guard every truth You deposit in my spirit. By this wisdom, Your Word produces fruit in my life. I will never lose what I receive. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
