Apostle Grace Lubega
Psalm 119:162(NKJV); I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure.
There is a difference between needing God’s word and treasuring it.
If you read the Word because you want to be healed of a disease you just realised is in your body, that is needing the Word of God.
If you run to the Word because you feel delayed in your marital destiny and want to know how to find a spouse, that also amounts to needing the Word of God.
But the Lord wants you to TREASURE it.
People who treasure the Word do not use it as an emergency appeal for the crises of their lives.
The Word is not an occasional pursuit for their intellectual entertainment.
When you treasure it, you live in it, breathe it and feed on it. As a man who treasured God’s Word, Job said, “I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than necessary food.” (Job 23:12).
Go beyond need, child of God. Build your every waking moment around His Word. Let the testimony of your life be that of a true lover of His truth.
