Apostle Grace Lubega
Proverbs 23:4(KJV); Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
The Spirit of Wisdom, through our theme scripture, instructs us not to labour to be rich.
Is He disqualifying the importance of hard work? Does He mean that you should not apply yourself through diligence and consistency in all that you do?
Of course not.
The fundamental lesson here is that hard work is in the realm of purpose and assignment, it is not in the realm of building wealth.
Hard work at your job or in your business is not the guarantee of wealth. There are people who wake up early each day and toil from dusk until dawn but struggle to afford the next meal.
We work hard because we are driven by purpose and not the need to accumulate wealth.
Because he was driven by purpose, the Apostle Paul said, “I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1 Corinthians 15:10).
Whether at your job or business, your hard work should not be because you need to have your pay increased or drive up profits, but because the God of purpose demands that you apply more of yourself to your efforts and endeavours.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Whether at your job or business, your hard work should not be because you need to have your pay increased or drive up profits, but because the God of purpose demands that you apply more of yourself to your efforts and endeavours.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this knowledge. Thank You for the revelation of divine purpose in all that I do. Because I am purpose-driven, my labours shall never be in vain but will produce fruit that brings glory to Your name, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
