Phaneroo 102 : Prayer Code 7

Weightier Issues

Religion is a spirit, it is not a state or an institution. It is the spirit that tends to take a man back to bondage because of what he does not know. When you know the truth, the truth makes you free.

The Bible speaks of legal people like the Pharisees and Sadducees and says that they leave out the weightier issues.

Matthew 23:23 says; Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

The spirit of religion leaves out the weightier issues of the gospel and once these are left out, the gospel becomes a light experience. It becomes something that is not worth expediting because on its own it does not give a man the hunger to search out that which is weighty.  The word of God is a weight. And that is what translates as the glory of God upon your life.

The Amplified renders it thus; Woe to you, [self-righteous] scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you give a tenth (tithe) of your mint and dill and cumin [focusing on minor matters], and have neglected the weightier [more important moral and spiritual] provisions of the Law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the [primary] things you ought to have done without neglecting the others.

In the gospel, there are things that are weightier than others. Even when you read the Bible, you realize that certain truths are weightier than others.

Religion leaves out these weightier issues. For example, you might be familiar with Philippians 2:12. It says; wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Many people concentrate on the working out of salvation with fear and trembling yet the weightier issue is in the next line.  It says;  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Religion knows that the moment you introduce ‘for it is God,’ then you disqualify the ability of any man. Understand that here, the pendulum swings between two entities. The number two represents transition of one life into a better life. If you are dealing with the scriptures, you will realize that some swing on the pendulum of a lighter truth into a heavier truth. What religion does is that it picks out the lighter and leaves out the weightier because the weightier presents Christ.  The lighter casts to Christ, the second explains what has been cast.  The first one gives light, the second one explains it. The first line speaks of working out your salvation, the second line speaks of how you work out that salvation.

If a man does not see the second line, he will start working out his salvation and then leave God out of it.
