Phaneroo 111 sermon
Of Walking in the spirit
The most effective and most used weapon of the devil is deception. Ephesians 4:15 in the KJV rendering says ‘But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ”
There was no comma between into Him and in all things; it was a continuous statement. This means that the primary ministry of God in your life is to make you into Him in all things. The church is supposed to be looked at not just as the Church which belongs to Christ but Christ Himself. Ephesians 4:16-18 continues to say ‘…that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.’ The amplified renders it as “So this I say and solemnly testify in [the name of] the Lord [as in His presence], that you must no longer live as the heathen (the Gentiles) do in their perverseness [in the folly, vanity, and emptiness of their souls and the futility] of their minds. Their moral understanding is darkened and their reasoning is beclouded. [They are] alienated (estranged, self-banished) from the life of God [with no share in it; this is] because of the ignorance (the want of knowledge and perception, the willful blindness) that is deep-seated in them, due to their hardness of heart [to the insensitiveness of their moral nature].”
When a man who is not born again accesses the spirit world and sees certain things therein, his interpretation depends on the master he serves. He cannot understand what he sees the way the Christian sees it. We carry advanced knowledge and that grace comes with the ability to have control over the things that we receive, stumble on and see spiritually; because in Him the Bible says all things consists. That means when you are in Him everything in the Spirit world comes in order.
Repentance from dead works
The body of Christ has to leave behind the elementary things of the gospel and grow to maturity. Hebrews 6:1 says’ Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God’
The first principle is repentance from dead works. Dead works are not bad works. They are dead because they are done by the ability of a man to please God in a dispensation where a man is supposed to do by the ability of God because God is already pleased with Him.
If you don’t understand repentance from dead works, you can never have faith because with every aspect of faith a man’s ability is dispensed with and all he can do is to believe.
