Love: The Message Of The New Testament

Apostle Grace Lubega

Genesis 3:6 (KJV): And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

The Word of God is food.

However, the revelation of its weight hangs on the principle of agape, the unconditional love of God.

In our theme scripture, understand that Eve’s deception came from a desire for what pleased the eye, what was good for food and could add wisdom but was without love.

This is because the love could only be found in Christ, the tree of life.

This is how this truth is demonstrated today: when one purports to preach the gospel, there might be the demonstration of power(pleasant to the eyes; the message may reflect depth of knowledge (good for food) and it may be desirable to make one wise (listeners increased in wisdom).

Despite all this, the question is, where is love?

If love is not revealed in what you preach, whatever you say and do may be pleasant to the eyes, good for food, desirable to make one wise yet not be the substance of the message of God.

That is why we speak the truth in love(Ephesians 4:15); why we must be rooted and grounded in love(Ephesians 3:17); why love must abound in us more and more in knowledge and in all judgment( Phillipians 1:9).

Love is our message.

GOLDEN NUGGET:

If love is not revealed in what you preach, whatever you say and do may be pleasant to the eyes, good for food, desirable to make one wise yet not be the substance of the message of God.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for this great Word. Your love has been shed abroad in my heart as such I live the love walk every single day. My message is of love, my conversations and attitude are grounded in love. If I minister, it is in love and if I demonstrate your Spirit, it is in love, for love is the most excellent way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
