Proverbs 22:3(KJV); A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
It is simplicity to tumble needlessly into the hands of evil. You should not live a life that is so open to wickedness that you always find yourself as the object of constant pain and trouble.
That is why God gave us wisdom. A wise man foresees evil and hides himself while the simple man becomes a victim of it.
In Proverbs 1:4, the Bible says that wisdom gives subtility to the simple. The world is a hostile place to those who do not know God. Wisdom shows us the hows of existence.
Faith is not naivety as some assume.
In assigning his disciples to the task of reaching the lost, Christ gave them a lesson in subtility. In Matthew 10:16, He says, “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”
There are Christians who have lost their lives in the work of ministry, not because it was their time to depart from the body but because they lack this subtility.
They made the right statements in the wrong places; they fought battles that were not theirs to fight; zeal took them to places that the Spirit of God did not want them to go into.
The subtility of the wise teaches you where to go and where not to. It shows you whom to partner with and whom to avoid. It shows you what path to take and which path to stay out of.

1 Peter 1:8(KJV); Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
It is a fact that many Christians in their walk of salvation have not seen Christ in the flesh. He has not appeared to them in visions or spoken to them in dreams. Nonetheless, they believe, trust and rely on Him as the risen Lord.
The Message Version of our theme scripture relates, “You never saw him, yet you love him. You still don’t see him, yet you trust him–with laughter and singing.”
It is this same expression of faith that God expects us to have in all areas of our lives.
For example, take the issue of health. If you receive the prayer of faith for your healing, do you need a machine to re-check you and confirm that you are truly healed? That is for the immature. When a mature spirit truly believes that he is healed, he does not even need a doctor’s report as a stamp of confirmation of the report of the Lord.
If you have not seen Christ in the body but still believe, in the same way, you don’t need to be put through a machine again to know that you are healed.
A mature spirit does not need evidence. He has not seen, but nevertheless rejoices with joy unspeakable.
This applies to your finances, to your ministry, to your marriage and relationships and to any aspect of your life.
Faith is all the evidence that you need. As long as you have believed, rejoice like one in possession of what you desire. Don’t wait for what you see, hear or feel to move you, let faith move you.

James 1:22(KJV); But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
The Greek word for “doers” in our theme scripture is “poiētēs” which is translated to mean, among other things, “a poet.”
A poet is a person who makes something out of words. He knows how to weave with beautiful skill the fabric of words to produce beauty.
That is how God expects us to be with His own Word!
The Lord has made great and wondrous promises to us in the scriptures. He has told us who we are and what we can do in Him. We are heads and not tails, above and not beneath. We are the light of the world, a city on a hill that cannot be hid. We are stars, shining brighter and brighter unto a perfect day. The Bible is full of line upon line of endless possibilities.
What are you doing with such beautiful material?
Some people have heard these words over and over but they are not poets of the Word! Even when they are in dire situations that only the Word can beautify, they are silent in their misery and passive in affliction.
A poet is vigilant in expression. Silence is not an art form. You must do something with the Word.
If disease dares to come, get a hold of the Word and weave some poetry. “By his stripes, I was healed. Disease is shackled in the past and has no gateway into my present and future.”
If situations dare to question your identity, arise in scriptural poetry and declare, “I am the offspring of divinity, not blood-begotten, not flesh-begotten but God-begotten!”
The Word is near you, it is in your mouth (Romans 10:8) and in it is the answer to that situation. Speak it! Declare it! Own it! Walk in it! Paint your world in it!

Matthew 21:22(KJV); And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
The spirit of faith has no disqualification clauses.
Faith has no disqualifications because it is a liberty in God. The only check by God on these liberties is that they should not be used as a cloak of maliciousness but in service to God (1 Peter 2:16).
The Bible says whatsoever you ask in prayer believing. It does not qualify this statement and say, “when you have done all the right things in the eyes of God.” It does not say, “when you have fasted and prayed for forty days.”
Some people shackle the liberties of and in faith because, in their minds, they have already qualified it. Why should you restrict that which God in His wisdom has not restricted?
Moreover, the greatest disqualification is themselves. They make statements such as “I AM not clean enough”, ” I have not prayed enough”, “I AM not anointed enough.”
Because God cannot stand disqualifications on faith, He went ahead and dealt with you as a possible restriction and says, that you are dead and yet you live but it is Christ who lives in you and the life that you live is by the faith of Christ and not your faith(Galatians 2:20).
When we say, “stretch your faith”, it means that you should not allow any restrictions to it, whether they are restrictions of self or restrictions of circumstances. Choose to believe God beyond the voice of personal limitations and the voice of the storms around you.

2 Kings 2:12-14(KJV); And Elisha saw it, and he cried My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
The purpose of the mantle is to open the realm of the spirit to you.
Our theme scripture reveals that Elisha took the mantle of Elijah and with it parted the waters of Jordan. Waters represent the spirit realm. Their parting meant that he had access to that world in a deeper way.
Herein is the power of submission and understanding who your spiritual authority is in the spirit realm. Because Elisha had received the understanding that Elijah was the chariot of Israel and the horsemen thereof(2 Kings 2:12), he had the authority to stand by that revelation to access the realm of God in a deeper way.
When the sons of Sceva tried walking in these realms, they were beaten by the very forces they sought to conquer, not because it was wrong to use the name of Paul or the name of Jesus [Elisha used Elijah’s name] but because they did not understand the spiritual identity of the men whose names they stood on and neither were they submitted in spirit( Acts 19:13-16).
Often times, a true spiritual authority has been to the places in the spirit that you wish to go. He has conquered territories therein that you wish to explore.
Unless you are truly submitted and have understood his identity in spirit, some realms will never bow to you. Submission is not all about imitation. You must ask the ultimate question, “Who is my father?” The answer is not in how he dresses, how he walks or even in how he preaches. It is in who he is in spirit and the mark of distinction upon him that eternally links you to him.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Submission is not all about imitation. You must ask the ultimate question, “Who is my father?” The answer is not in how he dresses, how he walks or even in how he preaches. It is in who he is in spirit and the mark of distinction upon him that eternally links you to him.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this truth. I embrace it in humility and walk in its reality. The spiritual realm is open to me because I am submitted. Territories bow to me because I am submitted. I do mighty exploits because I have understood this pattern of growth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Genesis 16:2(KJV); And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
Every time men exert human effort to achieve divine promises, they inevitably fall into the clutches of delay.
Sarah and Abraham were set back for thirteen years after they exercised human effort to have the child they so desired. Thirteen years was the time difference between the birth of Ishmael and the birth of Isaac, the child of the promise.
How about Moses, zealous in his desire to rescue the Israelites from Egyptian bondage? His first attempt was by human effort when he killed an Egyptian who was oppressing an Israelite. The Bible says in Acts 7:25, “For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not”.
The result of this zeal was forty years at the back of the wilderness before God could hand him the great assignment of the Exodus.
Sometimes desperation and misplaced zeal push some to “help God” but they lose years in the process because God does not need your help to achieve what He promised.
There is a man of God whom God called but he sent himself and has lost years struggling in ministry because this was not God’s way. A Christian woman yoked with an unbeliever because her biological clock is ticking noisily may fall back in spiritual timing by years or even an entire lifetime.
Your own way will always inevitably delay your destiny. There is a God-way to growth in ministry, a God-way to success in your career, a God-way to multiplication and increase in business and a God-way to a great marriage.
The God-way is within the bounds of perfect spiritual timing. If it is not the God-way of achieving something, don’t jump onto the bandwagon of the desperate no matter how long what you want seems to be taking. Wait on Him because He beautifies destiny when it falls within His time.

Galatians 4:28(KJV); Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Ishmael was the firstborn son of Abraham. By the ancient laws of inheritance, he was entitled to the birthright. However, as scripture reveals, this did not happen. Rather, the birthright was passed to Isaac the younger son(Genesis 25:5).
Why was this so?
Isaac, like our theme scripture reveals was the son of the promise. Ishmael on the other hand, was the result of Abraham and Sarah’s human effort to fulfill the divine promise(Genesis 16:15).
What does this tell us about divine inheritance?
We sell our birthright when we try to achieve through our own works what God has promised through His grace, love and kindness.
Today, we bear witness to a church that has sold its birthright in outrightly rejecting the grace by which divine inheritance comes. By teaching the law, we sell the birthright of believers because we tell them what they should do on their own to attain what God promised instead of simply receiving these blessings by faith.
The Bible says we are joint heirs with Christ( Romans 8:17). Why then is it that some Christians live like orphans with no claim to any inheritance?
It is because, in believing that they must work for inheritance and for the promises of God, they frustrate the divine order by which blessings come.
God has given you ALL THINGS that pertain to life and godliness(2Peter 1:3). It is your part to receive in faith and walk in this grace.

John 1:4 (KJV); In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
The life of God in us manifests itself to the world as light. When the scriptures speak of us as “children of light”(1 Thessalonians 5:5) or as “the light of the world”(Matthew 5:14), some envision light in the physical sense, such as electricity or daylight from the sun.
Not so, child of God. The light that you radiate is the life of God.
Every expression of the life of God through you is a light.
Healing is light to the world; demonstration of power is light to the world; supernatural growth is light to the world; divine providence is light to the world; divine health is light to the world.
Why are some stars dim and why do others shine so brightly? Why are some people in this world a success and why do some struggle?
Those who struggle have not understood the nature of the inward light; that it is a light born of a life and this life is of God.
In 1 John 5:12, the Bible says, “He who has the son has life.” You believed Christ and as such, this life is in you. The life is causing you to shine, it is attracting kings, it is opening nations to you and it is expanding your sphere of influence.

John 17:23(KJV); I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
The oneness that we have in Christ and in God is the guarantee that we walk in divine perfection.
In our theme scripture, our Lord says, “I in them and thou in me that they may be made PERFECT in one.”
This reveals to us that perfection is in the revelation of the oneness we have in God.
What is the essence of this perfection in God?
Where there is perfection, there is liberty and where there is liberty, there is phronesis.
This means that because you are one with God, you have the freedom to walk in the power of the Spirit to the level that you want and in the way that you want.
For example, If you want to demonstrate power, heal the sick or cast out demons, you are at liberty to do so in the mode that you wish. It can never be outside the will of God because you are one with Him.
If it is success and growth in ministry or any area of your life, it can come to the extent that you want it and in the way you want it.

2 Timothy 2:5(KJV); And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
Mastery has laws, mediocracy is a lawless vice. This is why our theme scripture so clearly puts it, that if a man strives for masteries, he is only crowned if he strives LAWFULLY.
A master wins by a set of rules. A mediocre person wants to circumvent the disciplines yet claim the crown of victory.
These laws of mastery are not meant to hold us in the shackles of predictability. Rather, they paint the principles and patterns tested by time that have defined mastery in spirit and over the course of human history.
The reason why they are laws is because they are absolute in their effects. For example, in the natural world, gravity is a law. What you throw into the air comes back down.
In mastery, an example of a law is the law of diligence. Diligence is absolute in its effect because many things in this life yield to it. In Proverbs 22:29, the Bible says, ” Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”
The language herein is SHALL, not may or might but SHALL. That is an expression of absoluteness.
God has not called you to languish in mediocrity. He has set in place clear boundaries within which mastery thrives. If you want to be a master in your area of ministry, career, business or any aspiration in life, study, give yourself to, exercise yourself in these laws because they carry guaranteed results.

True success is in the revelation of love. This is the love of God toward us and all men.
People who lay a claim to success without understanding love will always use their success as a weapon for the destruction of others.
There is a glass ceiling over everyone who seeks success as a form of revenge.
When you see success through the lens of love, you will understand that it is a responsibility and that by it, you demonstrate God’s love to the world.
Why do you think some of the richest people in the world carry the heart of philanthropy? Is it because they have money to simply give away? No! It is because whether consciously or unconsciously, their success was begotten by love.
Our degrees and academic qualifications can never change the world. Money on its own can never change the world. No amount of political power can change the world. Only love has the power and capacity to transform humanity.
When God elevates you and causes you to shine, when He increases the circumference of your influence, when He sets you above many as a pioneer and a policymaker, in all these things, let His love shine through you because godly success finds its expression in love.

Proverbs 14:6(KJV); A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
Serendipity is an interesting word coined in 1754 by the English writer, Horace Walpole from the fairy tale, “The three Princes of Serendip” whose heroes kept discovering things they were not looking for.
It is a term that very much applies to daily life and the things that make a difference between bright and dim stars.
Think about it this way: you are in desperate need of the contact of a person who will help you close a very big deal. When you visit a mall, a nudge in your spirit compels you to go into a certain clothes shop. While there, with no apparent interest in the display, the person, whom you have been looking for like a needle in a haystack appears and the two of you strike a conversation that you need for that big break. That is serendipity!
It works for some and almost never works for others.
Our theme scripture draws a parallel between two kinds of people: those who seek for certain things and never find them and those who find and are found by those very things.
It is not the portion of the believer to seek and never find. It is his portion to find and be found even without seeking. Favour must find you; success must find you; opportunity must find you; increase must find you!
Our Lord Jesus Christ, a babe in arms, who had not yet grown in wisdom and stature, had his star shining so brightly that it attracted wise men from the East to bless Him(Matthew 2:1-2). Why? Because attraction is a default setting for the child of God.
This is the consciousness that you must carry as a star of the kingdom. Serendipity works for those who understand that they were designed by God to attract the things that they need.
